Story
Hi friends and family!
I am so excited to run my first 1/2 marathon! I chose the Berkeley Half Marathon because with your help, I have the opportunity to use my passion for running to do good in the world.
I have trained for this race as a Cross Country and Running Club coach for the Hamlin School for Girls, where I really commenced my running career. It brings me so much joy to run with young girls who are a lot like me, getting started early in the lifelong sport of perseverance that is running.
I have decided to raise money for the Berkeley Public Schools Fund. I care so deeply about education and equal access, so it would mean the world to me if I could help kids like me.
Thanks so much for your support! I cannot wait to cross my first 1/2 marathon finish line, and in a way that feels especially meaningful and worth it!
In the meantime, I'll be hydrating, running 20-30 mi/week (including coaching!), trying to find ways to reduce blisters, posting on Strava, and getting hyped!

The Berkeley Public Schools Fund is the local education foundation that supports Berkeley public schools, pre-K to 12th grade. Through grants, volunteers and STEM programs, we center equity for the benefit of our students and the entire community. We are entirely supported by the Berkeley community to help bridge the gaps in Berkeley schools.
